Kelsey Flores joins First Liberty Institute as Associate Counsel in the new Washington, D.C. office.
Prior to joining First Liberty, she attended Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the SMU Law Review. She loved learning about constitutional law and getting involved in the Federalist Society and was the President of her law school’s chapter. Kelsey spent her law school summers defending religious liberty as a law clerk for the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Sub-Committee on the Constitution and with First Liberty Institute. During law school, she interned for the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Texas for the Honorable Reed O’Connor and for the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Texas for the Honorable Amos L. Mazzant III.
Kelsey received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Brigham Young University. During college, she deferred her studies for 18 months to serve as a missionary in Northern Italy. Kelsey is fluent in Italian.
