Suzanne Beecher serves as Associate Counsel with First Liberty Institute, defending the constitutional right of all Americans to exercise their faith in accordance with the dictates of their conscience.
She graduated magna cum laude from Notre Dame Law School. While at Notre Dame she was a graduate fellow with Notre Dame’s de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture. Additionally, she served as the Managing Symposium Editor of the Notre Dame Journal of Law Ethics and Public Policy. During law school, she researched international abortion laws and legal trends in the area of abortion. She focused her courses on First Amendment law and ethical issues at the intersection of law and policy.
Suzanne is a 2017 Blackstone Fellow. She spent her summers during law school as an intern with First Liberty in 2017 and a summer associate at Kirkland and Ellis’s Chicago office in 2018.
Prior to law school, Suzanne graduated from Baylor University where she was a Business Fellows major with a secondary Economics major and Political Science minor. At Baylor, she served as the teaching assistant of a course on religious liberty and the internal vice president of Baylor Ambassadors, an organization which lobbies for student financial aid and international religious freedom at the state and national level.
