Brody Ewing is a captain on the football team at Wirt County High School in Elizabeth, West Virginia. Last year, he participated in First Liberty’s First Freedom Challenge, a national night of prayer to celebrate Coach Joe Kennedy’s victory at the U.S. Supreme Court. Across the country, countless players, coaches and Americans joined us by taking a knee in prayer at their local schools and stadiums.

Brody shared a picture of himself in his uniform on social media, pointing up and sharing his Christian faith. “I am taking this challenge because I want to be a part of the answer,” Brody’s post read. “I want God to use me to help restore faith in our school and community.”

During a Friday night game, Brody led his teammates, coaches, parents and even players on the other team in a post-game prayer. It was an encouraging moment that brought the community together.

Thanks to Coach Kennedy’s victory at the Supreme Court—as well as the landmark wins in our Bladensburg Peace Cross, Treat Children Fairly and Faithful Carrier cases—every person now has more religious freedom than they’ve had in 50 years.

Because of those wins, people of faith such as Brody can express their faith—and they can do so boldly and fearlessly.

We recently had a chance to catch up with Brody. He shared with us why making a public stand for his faith is so important. Watch below:
