First Liberty President and CEO Kelly Shackelford—a member of the President’s Religious Liberty Commission—discusses all that happened at this week’s hearing on a special episode of First Liberty Live.
Kelly dives into greater detail about President Trump’s speech, as well as testimony given by First Liberty clients, parents, students and other Americans who are facing attacks on their religious liberty.
“I recommend watching the hearing, because I think what you see is going to be real impactful to you,” Kelly said. “And you can tell it impacted everyone in this room, including the Commissioners.”
“I’m really encouraged, but I feel a real weight and responsibility,” Kelly continued. “Today, we really understand that this is serious and really have to do something about this. We have to make sure that the recommendations we give to the president really work.”
“We want actions that are going to last, so that our grandkids are going to have these protections. I want to encourage to everybody to pray for us because we really want wisdom to make a long-term difference.”
