Caroline Hoch - First Liberty

Before joining First Liberty as Associate Counsel, Caroline clerked for the Honorable Jeremy D. Kernodle of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Caroline graduated cum laude from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she served as President of the SMU Law chapter of the Federalist Society and as President of Law Students for Life. She also served as Case Note and Comment Editor of the International Law Review Association, which published her student note, “The Consequences of Gender-Affirming Care: A Survey of U.S. and U.K. Law.” Additionally, her article, “By the Book? An Originalist Perspective on the Bible in Public Schools” was published in Volume 30 of the Texas Review of Law & Politics.

Caroline received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Westmont College, where she was a member of the Women’s Soccer Team. Prior to obtaining her law degree, Caroline spent several years working as an elementary school teacher in Washington, D.C.
Caroline is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
