Our President & CEO Kelly Shackelford recently interviewed three of our U.S. Navy SEAL clients who are now retired from the service.

First Liberty represents dozens of Navy SEALs who were threatened with punishment, involuntary separation and even court-martial. Why? Because they sought a legal, religious accommodation to the military vaccine mandate. These heroes have been fighting in court for nearly three years.

Because of the nature of their work, Navy SEALs can’t publicly defend their faith or even themselves against religious discrimination. But now that these three SEALs have retired, they were able to share with Kelly what this legal fight was like for them, especially how it impacted their service and even their families.

Our clients expressed how grateful they are for First Liberty and supporters like YOU. You truly made a huge difference in the lives of these warriors and their loved ones. Because of your support, these Navy SEALs were able to retire on their own terms.

Just as America’s Navy SEALs never give up on their country when serving, we at First Liberty will never give up on our service members. Kelly presented each of them with an award in honor of their bravery, sacrifice and perseverance.

Please continue praying for the SEALs and our legal team. We have a hearing July 24th on the settlement of their lawsuit. We’re closer than ever to reaching a full and final victory for our clients. The outcome could also give more religious freedom protections to thousands of service members.

In case you missed it, here’s Attorney Danielle Runyan—our Military Affairs Practice Group Chair—giving us a status update:
