Thanks to your support, First Liberty’s former clients—Pastor Paul Malcomson and Light of the World Gospel Ministries—are constructing a multi-use facility to serve their community on the Omaha Reservation, share the Gospel, and train pastors and missionaries to minister to Native Americans all around the country.

We represented the church a few years ago in a lawsuit after the Village of Walthill, Nebraska denied or revoked numerous permits. We reached a favorable settlement which allowed the church to begin construction of their new building.

This was a huge win for the church, which meets in a small, converted funeral home and lacks space to accommodate its growing congregation and ministries. It was also a win that would impact the surrounding community. The freedom to build also means Light of the World is able to revitalize and transform dilapidated and undeveloped property to serve all village residents.

Back in March, Pastor Paul sent us several photos showing that construction was well underway, with the walls and structure of the facility taking shape.

Pastor Paul sent us an encouraging update recently letting us know that the exterior of the building is nearly finished:

“I just wanted to update everyone on the status of our new building…In a few day’s time the builders will complete the exterior of the complex. Praise the Lord! This is major landmark for us….This is a remarkable achievement. We cannot thank God’s people enough. God is faithful! God’s people have also been faithful!”

Take a look at the progress they’re making:

Pastor Paul and his church have a burning desire to reach the lost, especially Native Americans. To fulfill their God-given mission, the church planted itself on the Omaha Reservation in rural Walthill, which has a population of about 800.

Pastor Paul’s ministry in Walthill started over fifteen years ago, after he attended a pastor’s conference and heard a testimony from Pat Phillips—a member of the Omaha Nation—who said, “No one will serve my people.” That simple phrase that made clear God’s calling clear. Pastor Paul, a former Northern Ireland police officer, packed up his family and moved across the Atlantic Ocean to live in this remote village.

Once finished, this facility will enable them to more effectively minister to the Reservation community and raise up and train those called to reach Native Americans around the country with the Gospel.

“We are in one of the most challenging mission fields in the world,” Pastor Paul told us in his recent message. “We are surrounded by darkness. The need is overwhelming. There is much spiritual resistance. But God is moving. Souls are being saved.”

Thank you for giving to First Liberty. Your donation makes difference in the real world and in the lives of Americans. It’s THEIR lives that you’re impacting. Because of your generosity and the work that we do, pastors, religious organizations and houses of worship can do what they do.

More Pastors and Churches Need Your Help

You made it possible for Light of the World to begin constructing a facility to reach Native Americans with the gospel. Will you continue supporting First Liberty so we can win and help more pastors and churches fulfill their divine calling?

There’s been an alarming surge in attacks against houses of worship who care for the most vulnerable.

Local bureaucrats want churches to conform to their beliefs rather than live by their own. Because of this, pastors across the country are being attacked for their faith such as:

  • Pastor Chris, who is being criminally charged for providing a safe place for the town’s most vulnerable to go 24/7.
  • Pastor Jose, who is being pressured to end his food ministry that has been feeding the hungry for 25 years.
  • Pastor Howard, who is being prevented from hosting religious gatherings on his own property.
  • Pastor Mike, who is being canceled for providing temporary, emergency shelter for helpless and suddenly homeless people.

We need faithful Americans like you to come alongside these pastors so that they can continue to minister to and serve their communities. Please give to First Liberty today.
