First Liberty Live!: American Legion Awards
First Liberty was at The American Legion National Convention in Charlotte, where we presented the 2023 Onderdonk Religious Liberty Award to Shields of Strength, a faith-based company that graciously provides replica dog tags with inspirational Bible verses to active-duty service members, veterans, first responders and their families.
Our organization also received the Distinguished Service Medal, the highest award bestowed by The Legion, which is the largest wartime veterans service organization in the nation with more than two million members.

Shaftesbury Fellowship Applications Now Open!
First Liberty is now accepting applications for our annual Shaftesbury Fellowship.
The Shaftesbury Fellowship provides an opportunity for students to develop their understanding and deepen their specialized expertise in a variety of academic fields including theology, philosophy, politics, law, economics and history. This rigorous program is for upper level undergraduate students and recent graduates who intend to pursue graduate study in any field related to the advance of liberty.
The next Shaftesbury Fellowship will take place May 19 to July 31, 2024, at First Liberty’s headquarters in Plano, Texas.
All Shaftesbury Fellows will receive housing in the Dallas-area for the duration of the program and a weekly stipend to offset their living expenses.
