Religious Liberty Expert Praises Speaker Mike Johnson for Denouncing Antisemitism on College Campuses
Washington, D.C.—On April 24, Speaker Mike Johnson gave a press conference at Columbia University where he denounced antisemitism. Jeff Mateer, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at First Liberty Institute, made the following statement in response:
As hateful vitriol is aimed at our Jewish neighbors from too many on our college campuses, Speaker Johnson made his commitment to religious liberty for all Americans loud and clear. At First Liberty Institute, we have seen a dramatic increase in attacks against Jewish members of our community, leading us to take legal action in their defense across the nation. We are grateful to Speaker Johnson for his strong defense of religious freedom and join him in condemning all forms of antisemitism and religious bigotry.
