Religious Liberty Firm Urges U.S. Department of Education to Protect Religious Liberty
DOE asked for public input on administration of school discipline

Washington, DC—First Liberty Institute submitted a public comment regarding the nondiscriminatory administration of school discipline, issued by the Department of Education’s (“The Department’s”) Office for Civil Rights.

The following statement may be attributed to Counsel for First Liberty Institute Christine Pratt:

It’s important that the Department of Education not neglect protecting the religious rights of K-12 public school students. As a religious liberty law firm, we have come along side students across the nation wishing to express their faith in schools, only to have it denied.  The Department of Education must recognize that federal laws and the Constitution protect the civil rights of all students, including their religious liberty rights.

The public comment can be read here.
