Statement from First Liberty Institute Regarding Presidential Candidates’ List of Potential Judicial Nominees
Washington, DC—The following statement may be attributed to Kelly Shackelford, President, CEO, and Chief Counsel for First Liberty:
The appointment of federal judges is one of the most consequential responsibilities held by the President of the United States. The choices made reflect a president or candidate’s commitment to the Constitution and the rule of law and have ramifications for the civil rights, including religious liberty, for every American. We are impressed with Vivek Ramaswamy’s excellent list that appears to be driven by extensive data analysis. We encourage all the candidates for President to release the names of potential judicial nominees they believe reflect their philosophy, who will be committed to defending the original meaning of the Constitution, ensuring that our nation’s liberties are protected.
