There is something about 30. As we celebrate Kelly Shackelford’s 30th Anniversary of leading the fight for religious liberty in America, we find ourselves right in the middle of a year of historic opportunities, challenges and victories that will set the course of religious liberty for the next 40 to 50 years.
In fact, by June 30, we could very well win a landmark case at the U.S. Supreme Court protecting veterans memorials all across the country – including those in Arlington National Cemetery. (We hope you’ll stay-tuned for more news on our Bladensburg WWI Veterans Memorial case coming out any day now).
But that’s just the beginning.
The momentum – or rather “the movement” – that’s occurring right now on the religious liberty front in America, and in the federal judiciary, is unlike anything we’ve seen in the past 30 years of being on the frontlines.
I’m sure you’ll agree…that’s good news!
But as you can imagine, our fight comes with a cost. These unprecedented opportunities have demanded more and more of our time, staff and resources than ever before.
