Why would a city deliberately work to keep the homeless, homeless?

The city of Castle Rock, Colorado is doing just that. City leaders are harassing a church attempting to help people in need.

The Rock, a church in Colorado, does a lot for their local community including food distribution, job training, and financial assistance. They even provide two RVs as temporary shelter to people who are suddenly homeless.

But the city would rather have people wandering the streets than have a place to stay.

The town claims the temporary shelter ministry violates zoning ordinances and is calling for an end to their ministry.

The city is even threatening to attack other critical ministries the church is providing if they don’t stop assisting the suddenly homeless.

Pastor Mike Polhemus and the church simply want to continue their mission of helping and loving people.

This type of religious discrimination isn’t just wrong. It’s illegal.

No church should be threatened for providing housing and care for the most vulnerable.
