In this week’s First Liberty Live!, Joel Penton, founder and CEO of LifeWise Academy, shares about their new documentary, “Off School Property: Solving the Separation of Church and State.”
Penton founded LifeWise because he recognized the gap left by faith-based education when it was removed from public schools and the damage it caused. So, he started a movement that restores religious education.
Under the law, public school students can be released to receive Bible education, as long as the program is off school property, privately funded, and parent permitted.
Over the past few years, First Liberty has partnered with and represented LifeWise to bring religious education to students across America.
The documentary features First Liberty President Kelly Shackelford as a legal expert. He explains the relationship between religion and state—and how the overturning of bad precedents through cases like Kennedy v. Bremerton School District has helped pave the way for programs such as LifeWise.
