June 24th marks our annual First Freedom Day, a special opportunity to celebrate our historic success at the nation’s highest court.
Because of our nine Supreme Court victories in recent years—decades of bad precedent have been overturned, and the future of religious freedom is brighter than ever before. All of this success is possible thanks to your support. Together, we’re winning and restoring religious freedom all across the country.
Throughout this celebration, we will be bringing you special messages from First Liberty clients like, Gerald Groff, Coach Joe Kennedy, along with members of our legal team and staff – even a special episode of First Liberty Live! at 12pm CST.
And stay tuned on our social media to watch our videos:
June 29, 2023: In a unanimous decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of postal worker Gerald Groff who would request off to observe the Sunday Sabbath. This requires workplaces to respect religious accommodations so that employees across the country can work and live according to their faith.
June 21, 2022: The ruling in our Treat Children Fairly case, Carson v. Makin, held that states cannot discriminate against parents who want to send their children to religious schools. This protects religious education nationwide and helps ensure equal treatment for religious organizations.
Connecticut schoolteacher Marisol Arroyo-Castro is being threatened with termination. Why? For expressing her faith and displaying a small crucifix near her desk. First Liberty is suing the school district in federal court and reporting it to the EEOC over its wrongful and illegal actions. These kinds of threats continue to happen in our country – and First Liberty is dedicated to stopping these unconstitutional attacks.
Right now, there’s still a resurgence in attacks against houses of worship, pastors and rabbis – the likes of which hasn’t been seen in a long time. From feeding the hungry to welcoming an outsider clients like Chris Avell of Dad’s Place, Jose Castro, Howard Kaloogian and Mike Polhemus need your continued support to win their legal battles.
Our clients don’t pay a dime for receiving top class representation from our attorneys. Your support helps us defend Americans, meet the challenges ahead and continue winning the fight for religious liberty! Right now you can multiply your impact with our $500,000 Challenge Grant.
Right now, there’s a war over culture itself. But a group of everyday Americans are standing up to make an impact. The Future of Faith and Freedom, an initiative of First Liberty, aims to educate individuals in their mid 20’s to mid 40’s on their religious freedom rights and empower them to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
