According to the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, Washington state high school football coach Joe Kennedy was in violation of the U.S. Constitution when he took a knee at the 50-yard line to pray individually after games.

Kennedy served as the assistant coach at Bremerton High School from 2008 to 2015, and was told he was no longer able to take a knee and pray or perform any action that could appear as praying on public school property.
