Religious Liberty Leader Kelly Shackelford’s Statement Regarding Today’s Remarks by President Trump in Dallas
Dallas, TX— Today, First Liberty Institute President, CEO, and Chief Counsel Kelly Shackelford attended a round-table discussion of race relations and faith hosted by President Donald Trump at Gateway Church in Dallas. The following statement may be attributed to Mr. Shackelford:
“At times of great friction and trial Americans have always turned to their faith for respite, guidance, and community. It abundantly clear that it is the faith community and our houses of worship that will lead the way in helping our communities heal during this tumultuous time. We applaud the President for declaring that faith and religious freedom are essential to America. It was a powerful discussion and I wish every American could have watched it.”
