Religious Liberty Expert Available to Discuss Religious Liberty at Summit Hosted by U.S. Department of Justice

Washington, DC—First Liberty Institute’s General Counsel Hiram Sasser will attend the U.S. Department of Justice’s Religious Liberty Summit on Monday, July 30th in Washington, DC. Religious liberty issues such as First Amendment conscience protections and enforcement of the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA) will be discussed.

  • A town in Airmont, New York using its zoning laws to prevent Orthodox Jewish groups from using their homes to gather for prayer meetings.
  • Light of the World Gospel Ministries, located in Walthill, Nebraska on the Omaha Nation Reservation, prevented from using its property to revitalize the small town.
