Statement Regarding Removal of Carrie Prejean Boller from President’s Religious Liberty Commission
Washington, DC—The following statement regarding the removal of Carrie Prejean Boller from the President’s Religious Liberty Commission may be attributed to Kelly Shackelford, President, CEO, and Chief Counsel for First Liberty Institute, and a member of the Commission:
The attempted hijacking of yesterday’s Commission meeting to promote an antisemitic agenda was disgusting. First Liberty Institute proudly represents synagogues and other Jewish clients, and we will continue to represent their cause as a core part of our mission to defend all people of faith in America. We will always be a friend to the Jewish people. I look forward to continuing the valuable work of the Commission so that we can present President Trump with a roadmap to restore and defend religious liberty for all Americans.
First Liberty has defended Jewish families seeking to display menorahs and other religious symbols in public spaces on equal footing with Christmas trees and other displays, Jewish prisoners denied access to kosher meals, even though the government routinely accommodates far less demanding dietary requests, Jewish synagogues targeted for seizure by antisemitic town leaders, and Rabbis threatened with fines and punishment for having prayer meetings in their homes.
